Sr Director, Talent Acquisition - Reworld Waste

Vineet’s path into recruiting wasn’t something he originally planned—it was discovered through experience, curiosity, and a realization that his strengths aligned naturally with talent acquisition.

Early in his career, Vineet worked as an ERP consultant. While pursuing opportunities for himself and members of his team, he found himself closely engaged with recruiters and the hiring process.

That exposure sparked something unexpected.

He realized he genuinely enjoyed understanding both sides of the equation—the needs of the business and the aspirations of individuals. More importantly, he recognized that he had an aptitude for bridging the gap between the two.

For Vineet, recruiting was never just about finding a perfect match.

It was about identifying potential, communicating fit, and helping decision-makers see opportunities others might overlook.

As his career progressed, that passion deepened. He found fulfillment not only in hiring talent, but in watching those individuals grow, develop, and succeed within the organization over time.

Even today, many of the people he hired more than a decade ago remain trusted colleagues and business partners.

That long-term connection is what makes the profession meaningful to him.

With an educational background in engineering and finance, Vineet also found talent acquisition to be a rare function where he could apply analytical thinking, business strategy, relationship management, and commercial judgment all at once.

What began as an unexpected discovery became a career built on connection, strategy, and long-term impact.

The Leaders Who Shaped His Approach

Throughout his career, Vineet has been fortunate to work under leaders who each helped shape how he operates today.

During his time at Virgin Mobile, he worked with a senior HR leader who encouraged bold thinking, calculated risk-taking, and a bias toward action. The message was clear: it was better to move forward decisively and learn than to stand still out of fear of failure. That mindset became foundational in how Vineet approaches leadership and change.

At Johnson & Johnson, he was influenced by leaders who modeled the power of collaboration and partnership. Their ability to align stakeholders, work cross-functionally, and build collective success reinforced the importance of leadership through influence rather than authority alone.

At Reworld, a leader in sustainable waste solutions, multiple CHROs throughout his tenure have continued to shape his growth. They have offered both candid feedback and strong support—challenging him where improvement was needed while recognizing and developing his strengths.

Together, these experiences shaped a leadership philosophy grounded in courage, collaboration, humility, and continuous improvement.

AI Is the Biggest Strategic Shift in Recruiting

Vineet sees AI as one of the most significant transformations talent acquisition has faced in years.

In his view, the excitement around AI is justified. The potential to improve efficiency, decision-making, and recruiter productivity is substantial.

At the same time, he believes leaders must approach adoption responsibly.

Questions around compliance, implementation readiness, internal capability, and available resources all matter. Having access to an AI tool is one thing—but successfully integrating it into workflows and generating value from it is another.

For Vineet, the challenge is not whether AI should be used.

It is whether it can be embedded thoughtfully, sustainably, and in a way that strengthens the function.

When approached correctly, AI becomes an accelerator rather than a distraction.

Advice for Talent Leaders Navigating 2026

Looking ahead, Vineet’s advice to talent leaders centers on three priorities:

Embrace change.
Understand change.
Deliver change.

He believes many leaders already recognize the importance of adaptability, but execution remains the real differentiator. It is not enough to acknowledge industry shifts—leaders must understand what those changes mean for candidates, stakeholders, and business outcomes, then translate that understanding into action.

He also strongly values peer learning.

Through industry forums, associations, and executive networks, Vineet has seen firsthand how much talent leaders can gain by sharing ideas, challenges, and solutions with one another.

No leader has to navigate change alone.

In a rapidly evolving market, the leaders who will stand out are those who stay open-minded, stay connected, and turn insight into execution.
